The conference is organized by the “Università del Salento”, the “Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II”, the “Seconda Università degli Studi di Napoli” and the “Università degli Studi di Salerno”, and will take place in Porto Cesareo (Lecce, ITALY) from June, 8th to 12th, 2009, at the Hotel Lo Scoglio.

The aim of the Conference is to provide an overview of different aspects of Group Theory and its applications. It is addressed both to postgraduate students and senior researchers in all areas of Group Theory.

The programme of the conference will include three short courses of lectures, delivered by the following speakers:

• Derek J. S. Robinson (Urbana, USA)
• Sudarshan K. Sehgal (Alberta, Canada)
• John S. Wilson (Oxford, UK)

and a series of 1-hour talks given by the following invited speakers:

• John Cossey (Canberra, Australia)
• Antonio Giambruno (Palermo, Italy)
• Eric Jespers (Brussels, Belgium)
• Leonid A. Kurdachenko (Dnepropetrovsk, Ukraine)
• Roland Schmidt (Kiel, Germany)
• Stewart E. Stonehewer (Warwick, UK)

In addition, there will be a programme of short research presentations.

The deadline for submitting an abstract is April 30th, 2009.
